Two weeks ago on a Friday afternoon, our hot water tank decided to let go just before we went away for the weekend. My husband had already left on the trip, and I had a flooded laundry, furnace and storage area to contend with, as well as no hot water. Unfortunately, any of the places that I called offering 24/7 emergency service did not feel that this was an emergency. Even with the phone calls on Friday, I was simply just another call coming in. Some companies were telling me they could not come with a replacement tank for at least 2 weeks, another company priced themselves 50% higher for the same product than the others. When I got in touch with your company, Ottawa Home Services, everything finally came together. I immediately felt at ease when I spoke with Dee. She picked up right away on the fact that we had young children - and accommodated us in the schedule. Tony and Andrew delivered the new tank on time, and Andrew installed the tank quickly and professionally, answering any questions we had along the way. Ottawa Home Services has amazing customer service that actually made us feel like someone really wanted to help us with our problem - we weren't just a job. Ottawa Home Services was able to install our new tank within 2 days of us contacting them, and tried to do so even sooner. Ottawa Home Services was the least expensive with no hidden costs. Ottawa Home Services is the complete package.
To this day, our current furnace maintenance company, who we contacted twice to see about replacing our hot water tank, has not even returned our phone calls. Rest assured that we will be switching our furnace maintenance contract over to you as well. We have already told friends and neighbours of our positive experience, and would be only too pleased to pass along any references.

One of the things we did before deciding to go with OHS was to obtain ‘competitive quotes’ from a number of service providers on comparable systems. OHS was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in helping us to determine which type of a/c unit would best meet our needs and our budget, and the cost and quality of service associated with the model from OHS were the main factors in our decision to go with OHS over the other service providers. When my furnace quit on the coldest day in Feb. I was rushed supplementary heaters which saved the day and allowed me to stay in my home until the next day when my new furnace was installed. I love the fact that you suggested we move it away from the middle of the floor and I now have a great workspace in my furnace room. The fellows that installed the new furnace where just great efficient, pleasant and very careful of my house while moving in and out with parts and etc.

Loosing your furnace at the end of the winter with a 2 year old and a 5 month old baby poses a great deal of stress as you can imagine. When the gas company shut down our furnace at 4:30pm because it was deemed unsafe, one phone call to you resulted in the delivery of loaner space heaters by 6pm, so my children would be warm. By 9am the very next morning Randy and Sebastien showed up to install our new furnace. At that point in time we had paid not even a penny, we were a family in desperate need of a new furnace, and the company was willing to rescue us on good faith!
Randy was surprised to hear we had decided we would have the furnace moved over a few feet since we were replacing it anyway, but none the less he and Sebastien labored to remove our messy old “Bessie” and install our beautiful new warm and efficient furnace in a friendly, professional and efficient manor!
In particular I was very impressed with their conscious effort to remember to close the baby gate behind them keeping my 2 year old safe! Thank you to the other workers who showed up, I regret I didn’t catch your names. Thanks also to Randy and Tony for the additional ductwork and Air Conditioner Installation the next week. EXCELLENT JOB.

We chose to take on Ottawa Home Services for our annual furnace maintenance program, as they offer very competitive rates. We have had our first furnace cleaning done by Andrew and are satisfied with the results. There had always been a loud "clunking" sound when the furnace would switch on to heat while the fan was running. Without any mention of it to him, the problem now seems to be rectified. He also thoroughly washed clean the fan, which I'm not entirely sure has always been the case with our previous heating and cooling company.
All this to say we would not hesitate to encourage other family members, friends, or anyone for that matter to give Ottawa Home Services a call. In choosing an updated gas fireplace for the home, Al provided many options and went out of his way to make sure we were pleased with our selection, taking the time to sort through available stock for the fireplace insert. The unit is both energy efficient as well as esthetically pleasing. Having shopped around, the total installation price was also better than many of their competitors.
Randy installed the fireplace, and this was done in a pleasant and timely fashion. The room was left clean, which isn't always the case when workmen come in to your home!!!

Most recently, I appreciated the visits from Randy. He was very
thorough in providing yearly maintenance for our 2 Gas Fireplaces and Furnace.
- He gave useful advice on a problem we are having keeping part of a large
room warm in winter
- He gave practical advice regarding an older fireplace, and whether it is
still adequate
- He found a pressure switch problem with our furnace and also found that
our previous furnace contractor hadn't properly leveled the new furnace. A problem which he fixed.
Randy offered very useful advice on how to get the best from our heating
equipment, and he seemed to appreciate that home-owners have budgets to
factor-in to decisions.
